With over 25 years of experience in industry and academia, I am a computer science AI researcher and entrepreneur specializing in the end-to-end development of large-scale AI applications. My expertise includes AI, Deep Learning, MLOps, and Data Science, supported by two PhDs—one in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence and another in Project Management—and a specialization in AI from Stanford. I have applied my skills across various sectors, including distribution, retail, logistics, pharmaceuticals, energy, security, and consumer goods.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to advancing and democratizing AI technologies. As a Senior Lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, I educate and mentor the next generation of AI professionals through courses such as "Data Science with Deep Learning." I am also the founder of the Naeural Edge Protocol Open Source initiative, where I explore the confluence of AI and blockchain technology, driving innovation in decentralized AI solutions.
My professional journey has equipped me with the ability to orchestrate the full lifecycle of AI projects—from initial research and modeling to productization, DevOps, and MLOps. I have held key leadership roles, such as CTO and Chief Data Scientist at companies including Lummetry.AI, where I specialized in predictive analytics and machine learning model deployment. My experience extends to managing large teams, optimizing business processes, and securing financing sources, including identifying and obtaining research grants for pioneering AI projects.

Serving as a Evaluator Expert for over 15 years, I have evaluated more than 200 projects and product proposals across multiple domains, including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, cloud computing, future internet, IoT, and advanced software engineering. My responsibilities also include evaluating project proposals for the cybersecurity industry, e-health initiatives, energy management systems, and enterprise business process management. These evaluations contribute to fostering innovation and development within key industries under the European Commission's strategic initiatives.
As Chief Data Scientist at Lummetry.AI, I specialize in predictive analytics, employing deep learning techniques to derive actionable insights from complex datasets. My work involves developing and deploying machine learning models that enhance decision-making processes across various industries, including retail and distribution horizontals and security, health, pharma, finance and consumer goods verticals. My contributions have significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of Lummetry.AI’s predictive solutions, driving business growth and innovation.
Focused on deep learning and computer vision, I led Cloudifier’s data science team in creating innovative solutions that leverage AI to optimize cloud computing services. My role involved the development of algorithms that improve image recognition, object detection, and other computer vision tasks, enhancing the overall performance of Cloudifier’s platform. These innovations contributed to the company’s reputation as a leader in AI-driven cloud technologies.
As the founder and CEO of Venture Capital Hub, I provided strategic consultancy to technology startups, focusing on grant financing, venture capital and business development. My expertise in AI and project management allowed me to guide startups through the complex process of securing funding and scaling their operations.
Spearheading strategic initiatives, I played a pivotal role in the development of innovative software solutions and business strategies at 4E Software SRL focusing on AI products for predictive analytics in security and pharma industries. My leadership resulted in the creation of multiple spin-off companies and the invention of several patents that are currently pending. My strategic insights and hands-on management style were instrumental in driving the company’s growth and success in the technology sector.
Serving as a personal advisor to the Minister, I was responsible for the development and implementation of Romania's national ICT strategy. My work involved high-level collaboration with government officials and industry leaders to promote the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as HPC and Machine Learning. My contributions were critical in shaping policies that supported the growth and modernization of Romania's information and communication technology sector.
As President, I led the restructuring of a 250-employee organization as per IMF directives. My leadership involved streamlining operations, enhancing organizational efficiency, and implementing strategic initiatives that aligned with international standards. The restructuring process significantly improved the center's ability to manage and deliver critical information society projects on a national scale.
As the Founder and CEO, I spearheaded the development of various applications with embedded expert systems and machine learning based approaches, catering to a diverse range of industries. My leadership in Knowledge Investment Group led to the successful execution of numerous outsourcing contracts, providing high-quality software solutions that met the unique needs of clients globally in areas such as consumer goods, advertising, cyber security, pharma. My innovative approach and dedication to excellence helped establish the company as a reputable name in the software development industry during its formative years.
My doctoral research focused on advanced deep learning techniques and their applications in UI artificial scenene analysis . The dissertation explored innovative approaches to neural network architecture search and optimization, contributing to the academic and practical understanding of AI’s capabilities. My work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
This program provided an in-depth exploration of AI technologies, covering topics such as machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and robotics. The hands-on experience and rigorous coursework have significantly enhanced my ability to design and implement state-of-the-art AI systems in real-world applications.
My first PhD focused on the strategic management of large-scale technology projects. The research emphasized the integration of project management methodologies with innovative technologies, particularly in the context of AI-driven projects. This education has provided me with a strong foundation in managing complex projects from inception to successful completion.
The master’s program focused on software engineering principles, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycles, programming languages, and system architecture.
